The trial against three men accused of murdering Gauteng's top cop Major-General Tirhani Maswanganyi in June 2013 will continue in the High Court in Pretoria.

The court on Friday could not continue with the cross-examination of 31-year-old South African National Defence Force officer Ndaedzo Vele.

He began testifying on Thursday in a trial involving him and two others.

Vele accused investigators of assaulting him during arrest and pointing out the crime scene in a bid to force him to admit guilt.

State witnesses, some of them senior police officers, have denied the assault allegations. Vele, Tshepo Mosai and Simon Msibi have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
